Our Mission

Canvas is a test, technology, and engineering company advancing innovation for the Department of Defense. Our teams of engineers, analysts, and innovators push boundaries, solve hard problems, and deliver results that matter by testing the limits of technology, strengthening defense capabilities, and enabling the people behind every mission.

Milestones

Our Founding

Incorporated in Sep 2007, founder Jami Peyton picked the name “Canvas” as she hoped to use her same passion and energy in the world of engineering and defense as she had in her art.

Expanded Our Capabilities

By 2015, Canvas had 70 employees and over 20 active contracts for a diverse set of customers. We acquired a business providing Canvas with contract vehicles and a history in programmatic support with a technical discipline.

Celebrated 10 Years

In 2017, Canvas celebrated 10 amazing years of business. Canvas moved our corporate office to the historic Huntsville Times building in downtown Huntsville.

Growth in Florida

In 2023, we expanded into Niceville, Florida, opening a corporate office to support our 96TW contract, customers, and personnel, further strengthening our presence and capabilities in the region.

Hit Major Milestones

In 2024, Canvas secured a strategic growth investment from Artinia Group, earned recognition as a Washington Technology Fast 50 company, and expanded its workforce by over 250 employees, nearly doubling the size of the organization.
