Digital Engineering Solutions
ACCELERATING SYSTEMS THROUGH DIGITAL PRECISION
Canvas delivers digital engineering solutions that modernize how the Department of Defense designs, analyzes, and tests complex systems. By connecting models, data, and analysis across the lifecycle, we enable faster decisions, reduced technical risk, and more efficient transition from concept to operational capability.
MBSE Integration and Architecture Development:
Canvas applies structured Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to define system architectures, behaviors, and interfaces across the digital lifecycle. We establish requirement traceability, manage system complexity, and validate system-level performance through connected digital threads that support design, development, test, and sustainment.
Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A):
We conduct high-fidelity modeling and simulation to support trade studies, feasibility assessments, and test readiness activities. Canvas predicts system behavior across complex operational scenarios, enabling informed engineering decisions early in the lifecycle while reducing cost and schedule risk.
Cross-Domain Digital Modeling:
Canvas delivers integrated aerodynamic, thermal, structural, and electrical models for advanced weapons and hypersonic systems. Our teams apply aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and multi-physics analysis to evaluate system performance under extreme conditions, supporting both design optimization and test planning.
Virtual Test Planning:
We leverage simulation environments, engineering analysis, and digital twins to design and rehearse test campaigns before execution. Canvas reduces reliance on physical test infrastructure, improves test efficiency, and accelerates validation timelines while maintaining confidence in system performance.
Toolchain Alignment and Integration:
Canvas embeds digital engineering workflows within existing customer environments to ensure continuity across the digital thread. We align and integrate engineering toolchains to enable seamless data exchange, collaboration, and interoperability across programs, organizations, and lifecycle phases.
Proven Success
Canvas led efforts at the Air Force’s Guided Weapons Evaluation Facility (GWEF) to secure approval and initiate Phase 1 execution of a next-generation digital test environment for advanced weapons evaluation.
This initiative will transform GWEF’s legacy infrastructure through the development of two new capabilities: the Advanced Multispectral Development (AMD) lab and a Hypersonic Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL)test facility. The AMD lab will simulate complex, multispectral scenes to enhance sensor testing for precision-guided munitions. The hypersonic HITL environment will deliver real-time, closed-loop simulation to evaluate hypersonic weapons in repeatable, mission-relevant conditions, enabling earlier, more accurate assessment of emerging systems.
